Artist: downontheupside
Beta: suilven(big hugs and thanks)

Warnings: None
Word count: 6962
Rating: Teen
Pairings: Garrus Vakarian/Female Shepard, Spock/Liara, Scotty/Tali
Spoilers: None – it’s a crossover AU

Summary: Cracky crossover where Captain Kirk, Spock and Scotty from Star Trek are stranded in the ME world (ME2). While Kirk soon finds out that the ladies aboard the Normandy are immune to his charms, Scotty finds a kindred spirit in Tali and Mr Spock is intrigued when he meets another telepath.

Author’s Note: This story idea had been on my mind for quite some time, so the MEBB was the perfect opportunity. And I’m insanely happy to have been paired with downontheupside who did such a wonderful job illustrating my story. Thank you so much! Also, thanks to my ever-patient beta suilven!

Artist’s Note: This was quite fun to illustrate, and it’s been a pleasure working with the wonderful and patient hot_elf! Her Shepard was a joy to work on and her story is just as fun to read. I had a bit more fun than I should have drawing that last bit. :”)

Wow, this is so gorgeous!!

"That’s what this is about?" she asked. "A ship?"

"Not a ship.” He tossed back the last of his drink and stood. “You want a story about Shepard?  First you’re going to have to realize that every story about Shepard is a story about the Normandy.  This universe just doesn’t make any sense if you try to take one without the other. Put that in your piece.”

He nodded at her and turned for the exit, pausing at the edge of the bar as she called after him. “And how is it that you fit into this equation, Mr. Moreau?” she asked. “You seem to have an awful lot to say on the subject.”

"Me?" he asked. He turned and grinned at her. "Story’s not about me. I’m just the pilot."

Artist’s Notes:

Annnnd this is my third! And also my first time to draw Joker. I actually had a lot of fun with his hat.

Seriously though, it was such a fun to pick up this story and do something for the Shoker pairing. This fic brought back all those feelings I had when I played ME2 for the very first time.

That camaraderie between Shepard and Joker and everything, this fic TOTALLY nailed it.

So, I hope this art reflects the nature of this story and everything it embodies.

Of course, having said all that, I also can’t not draw the Normandy, right? ;)

just because i don’t follow u back doesn’t mean i think u have a shitty blog. you might just have posts/fandoms/stuff i don’t really want on my dash. and hey, that’s fine. it’s YOUR tumblr you’re here for you and that’s goodgreatawesome.

but please don’t think me not following you back means i hate u 5ever and that u can never inbox me or reply to my posts or follow me on twitter or something b/c that is not what it means at all.

I know there is a distinct lack of Gideon while MEBB is going on!

So, here is some screenshot of him saving the world for the first time. :p

Blogging about his playthrough will definitely resume after I finished my last MEBB entry! But for now, enjoy him smiling happily at averting a very close call with the Reapers.

he wouldn’t be smiling so much during me2

Sebastian stayed true to his word.

He returned to Starkhaven. Took his throne.

(“His throne,” was something he still wasn’t sure he believed somedays).

Gathered an army.

Turns out, there was no shortage of those willing to fight. After all, in times as stark as this, people want there to be a target. It’s easier to be afraid, to be angry at something physical rather than a circumstance. It’s easier to accept than the truth, somedays. He is no exception to this.

So he pointed to Kirkwall.

And his army marched.

(“His army,” was something he still wasn’t sure he believed somedays.)

He was first in line, of course. He led them. If he was to be king, he wouldn’t lead idly from a throne. That didn’t sit right for him. So he was the first to wake and the last to sleep, and he wasn’t so keen to admit it was starting to show.

He had eyes too old for a face like his. Then again, the crinkles at the corners of his eyes and between his brow, the unkempt stubble he’d been too tired to deal with, made him look far older than he was.

Varric would have said he looked like shit. He’d be inclined to agree.

She, on the other hand, wouldn’t have been blunt.

It would have been her eyes that told him. Told him he is allowed to fall apart, she knew of sorrow and knew that people need to heal on their own terms; would’ve told him that a good friend of hers said only to turn the pages when you’re right and ready. Told him that falling apart wasn’t a weakness, wasn’t unhealthy; people break like bones and the cracks can heal stronger than ever before. Would’ve told him that those wrinkles made him look handsome and above all, would’ve told him that good men have those wrinkles at their brow, that good men held that sort of worry in their eyes.

(“Good man,” was something he still wasn’t sure he believed most days.)

News of his army travelled faster then they did. Sometimes there’d be volunteers from cities they passed, those wanting justice. Vengeance. Mostly, it was watchers. Juries. Men playing Maker. He didn’t blame them. Couldn’t. He did it sometimes too.

He was the first to doubt and the last to accept it. Started questioning the whys of this. What would this accomplish. A broken man taking a broken city in a breaking world. What would be righted, what would be fixed. Something, he’d tell himself in the mornings. Something, he would tell himself before he’d sleep. Something, he would tell himself in the nights he couldn’t.

(“Something,” was something he was sure he didn’t believe most days.)

They marched towards Kirkwall. The sun was damnably bright as it hung over the city. There was no army to greet them. The city was in shambles, why would there be.

The Champion was there, though. Why wouldn’t she be, after all.

He and his army halted yards away from her. Varric would have loved this, he thought. A hero against an army. Dashing, he thought. Brave, selfless, loving and damned stupid.

Her.

Sebastian dismounted his horse, less like the crusader he promised, and more like a tired man without conviction.

(“Without conviction,” was something he knew was a lie.)

"Sebastian Vael of Starkhaven" she started, and he could have swore she sounded as terrible as he felt, "under what pretence do you bring your army to the city of Kirkwall?"

There was a question, hidden under formalities, tucked in the way his name rolled from her tongue.

"I promised you nothing less then a prince."

He could keep that promise, as he broke one made in anger, as he made another to her now.

Without word she strode to him, and he to her.

An old dance. Something familiar. His hands wove into her hair and the pressed to the small of her back; hers rested on his hip and pressed to his chest.

Turning a page, picking up the pieces.
